Friday the 13th 2009

I am a big fan of the Friday the 13th Series. Apart from the focus on the gruesome killings and similar plots in each episode (with exception to Jason X & Freddy vs Jason which was excellent!), one of the reasons I loved this was because of the Main character - Jason Voorhees.

Jason Voorhees in Freddy vs Jason

Of ALL the famous slasher movie Icons namely - Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Leatherface, none comes as Domineering, Strength wise, Commanding and outright Solid in the form of Jason Voorhees.

I won't go into details but now they've made a Re-make of the entire story and sort of modernised it a little and not to continue like: Friday the 13th Part xx and so on.

Here's the Poster & a few movie shots from the new movie Friday the 13th 2009:

he is famed for his Excellent killing styles as well as his Famous Hockey Mask and his ever loved Machete weapon.
The surprising thing is, I read today's Newspapers and apparently this movie will be released in Malaysia come April 9th!
Of course I am happy, yet I might most probably not go see it in cinemas. Once the movie passes the censorship committee, we won't be able to enjoy the movie in all its essence.
So, wait and buy the Un-censored version, Complete with all gore, killing etc. etc.
I can't wait!!!
"Jason Voorhees is BACK!!!"

My First Shots with my D300!!!

I now have 3 ways to share my photos:

i. First is through Flickr! where most of my shots will be posted
ii. In my Facebook account
iii. And at times, here in my Blog!

As I am very excited to be snapping away with my new baby, I'd like to share some photos of the initial shots taken with my new gear.

Body: Nikon D300 Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera
Lens: Nikkor 18-200mm VR F/3.5-5.6 G

Other than that I had a Hoya Lens filter, bought a SanDisk Extreme III Compact Flash 8GB memory card, and a Camera Bag.

I admit for a newbie into the world of DSLRs, I am being a bit ambitious by getting a D300 which is a Pro-sumer range where many Professionals are using one. In usual cases, most enthusiasts would start off with an Entree-Level DSLR, and in Nikon's range the entree levels are the D40 or the new D60. But I did some research and felt that I needed something that would last me a Considerably long time (3 years at least), and I know that if I were to get an entree-level one, though it is way much cheaper, I would regret as the functions would not be up to my expectations at some stage. After more research done, I finally made my decision and called up J-One @ Amcorp Mall to book my Camera. If you're interested in a Nikon camera, look no further, J-One's da best! Very experienced user of Nikon for decades! and the Prices there are much cheaper than Photography outlets in our Malls!

So, for my first shots I was lucky enough that the very next day, it was my Company's All Staff Meeting. So here we go:

This was a close up shot of our country's flag at my work desk. Yes, I am patriotic........to a certain extent....
